微軟推出IE 8正式版瀏覽器，預計3月20日開放下載，這次微軟與本地多家網站業者合作，讓IE 8更容易幫助使用者找到合用訊息。另外，Windows 7 Beta版也計畫在4月底推出更接近量產上市的RC測試版。
微軟表示，IE 8 Beta版有12萬人下載使用，較IE 7多了加速器、網頁快訊及視覺化搜尋功能，第一波合作以國內網站業者為主，包括funP、巴哈姆特、I’m tv、MSN、痞客邦、露天拍賣、聯合線上、UrMap及1111人力銀行等。
另方面，微軟最近也證實Windows 7可以讓用戶在安裝時，自行選擇不安裝IE 8瀏覽器，也就是IE 8很可能不再綁著Windows作業系統，同時也可能會適用Windows Media Player、Windows Media Center、Windows DVD Maker、手寫識別等軟體。
